About Suzanne:
Suzanne Leon is a nom
de plume for a woman in the rural Central Valley who is married to a
scientist-artist and who has a 15-year-old daughter. Ms. Leon has read
Tarot cards, astrological charts, past lives, and palms for twenty-five
years, learning from master teachers, books, and extensive life
experiences. She has studied world religions and mythology; her favorite
philosophical system being the Hermetic Quabalah.
Ms. Leon promotes
healing through education and the arts. She has organized hundreds of
musical shows, plays and performance pieces. She plays the fiddle, belly
dances, and writes plays. She is currently working on a comic
performance piece on the interplay between levels of reality, Dragon
Lady and the Orloff Box. With her colleague Lesley Kellas Payne, she is
transcribing the Tarot classes of Jude St. Clair into book form.
Ms. Leon studied
astrology with a master astrologer, Rosemary Maurantonio, and palms with
an expert reader, Fay Gaul, Ms. Leon's partners in Cosmic Ladies. Her
ability to read past lives developed spontaneously, after being read by
psychics and practicing visualization techniques.
Ms. Leon's focus is
on use of the cards for individual healing. Tarot cards provide a
vehicle for delivering intensive individual attention, and are
themselves a mirror for the individual consulting the cards, thereby
providing assistance in defining and solving life's problems.
Ms. Leon is educated
in English, mathematics, psychology, special education, music, and
dance. Her chief vocation has been the teaching of learning disabled and
emotionally disturbed children. She has a Master's degree in this field,
and many years of experience teaching all ages and subjects. She is well
acquainted with therapeutic methods and has worked closely with a
marriage and family counselor to perfect her skills in the use of Tarot.
Ms. Leon was born in
London, England shortly after World War II, of an American serviceman of
Pentecostal background and an Anglo-Irish Roman Catholic from the Royal
Air Force. Her father was a cryptographer for the Navy; her mother did
encryption for the air force. Such genetics afford her unique abilities
to spot and interpret patterns, producing superior intuition and
abilities to translate images into words. Besides living in several
California communities, Ms. Leon has lived in the state of Washington, a
Montana Indian reservation, Japan and Austria.
Ms. Leon began
reading Tarot cards after being given a deck by a friend. Like many
readers, the cards found her! She then studied for many years with Jude
St. Clair, a scholar who studied Tarot from many different sources,
including the Brothers of the Adytum. Since that time Ms. Leon has read
Tarot for friends and for the general public. She has read for people at
New Age businesses, at psychic fairs, at Renaissance Faires, at private
parties, at her home and office, and with professional associates in a
business called Cosmic Ladies. The Cosmic Ladies gave serious lectures
or entertaining parties. They worked with police, businessmen, and
religious groups. Ms. Leon has the ability to read in large crowds or
small intimate venues.
